Previous seasons - Summary

2007 season

2006 > 2007

Water2007 was a season that featured some of the worst summer weather that we've seen in recent years - particularly in terms of the rainfall.

It's no surprise that with Blagdon being a reserve reservoir, water levels were far higher than you would normally expect and with levels actually rising as the year progressed, many of the traditional pitches weren't available.

That being said, the quality of the fishing was good throughout with a notable start to the year with a high number of well-wintered fish coming in at a higher than average weight - something that was apparent in the higher than normal season average.

levels 2007The unusually mild winter that contributed to the well grown-on fish didn't do us any favours in terms of the insect life. The buzzers were mostly over by the time the core temperature warmed sufficiently to bring the fish to the surface and rough, wet days during the summer kept the fish to the deepwater areas where they weren't as liable to disturbances.
